An Angel Appeared

Romans 12:7 (NIV) Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.
As I read this I remembered back when I excepted the Lord and His saving Grace. I remember it like it was yesterday. I closed my eyes and with a simple honest prayer from my heart I prayed. Dear God I do not know if You are real or not. If You then I am ready… Whatever You want, where ever You want it and whenever You want it I am ready. If there is anything about me You do not like then You are going to have to change me for I can not. That was the Angel of the Lord and His light that caused me to do that. I was not struck in the side it was in the mind. and the chains that fell from me was Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco.
I am a witness to the fact that God can do it and will if You ask him. Maybe not when you think it will happen however it will happen. I do not know why it was me and it was at that time. I do know it took me 32 years to get where He wanted me to be so He could us me.
However I do know and understand that there is nothing to big or to little for God for He loves us so very much. I do know that at that time I was totally surrendered to Him. I had nowhere to run I was at the end of the road. I once heard when you get to the end of your rope tie a knot and hang on… well I believe when you get to the end of your rope LET GO AND LET GOD. And suddenly an angel appeared. I was set free completely of Drugs, Alcohol, and Tobacco. all from a simple honest prayer from the heart.
