Prayer For Tuesday December 4, 2018

The prayer this morning is going to be just a little different and I hope all who reads it get the message I am going to try and put and get across. We all have challenges and we all have to respond to those challenges.

I wish I could take credit for this mornings prayer however I am going to have to say it was inspired by Pastor Mickey Jackson of our home church. I am so blessed to sit and listen and be taught by him. His life is speaking a WHOLE LOT LOUDER than his words. When he says he loves you, one will walk away knowing you are loved.
Pastor Mickey and his loving wife Denise are a joy to be around and Debbie and I are so blessed to call them friends and yes even family. Their life is a blessing and I do believe we all can look back and see the proof of life through the back ground. See I am blessed to know them and sort of know Pastors mom and dad and Denise’s mom and dad in fact Denise’s dad is a good friend of mine and we talk a lot.
OK, back to this morning prayer I pray that when you read it you understand and know it is from the heart. I am not going into a sermon hear however I do feel I could shout about it and it has inspired me to move on with a project I started a couple years ago and stopped because I was at a dead end…
Today’s morning prayer is going to be simple and difficult at the same time however if you read it, believe it and start to work with it, I believe it can and will be a life changing experience…
The prayer this morning is going to be straight to the point and it is one that will change your life I do believe if one hears what is being said. I will not make excuses nor will I sugar coat it. It is words straight out of the Word and it up to each and everyone what is done with it.

This mornings prayer could be entitled “Hearing and Doing the Word or is it Hearing and NOT Doing The Word”

James 1:19-27 (MEV) 19 Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, 20 for the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and remaining wickedness and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man viewing his natural face in a mirror. 24 He views himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in his deeds.

26 If anyone among you seems to be religious and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. 27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

The first word that hit ME hard was engrafted meaning To plant firmly; establish. Then comes “is able to save your souls.” There is a message all by itself the ENGRAFTED WORD wow is it. Is the scripture actually engrafted into our soul? Are we actually living the life that Jesus sat the example of? Have we actually laid aside all FILTHINESS and WICKEDNESS and have we RECEIVED with MEEKNESS (Showing patience and humility; gentle. Easily imposed on; submissive) the scripture FIRMLY (securely fixed in place) WORD.
Now let us take this scripture and actually think about what it is saying and what we are doing or not doing. Let us examine ourselves each to him or her self… More to come…
