Stepping Out of the Boat and letting God Work

Stepping out and letting God work on our family or our friends, brings us pain. Sometimes we have to let them go through the fire… Letting them go and walk on the water and then see them start to sink, it’s hard not to reach out and catch them.

Matthew 14:28 (MEV) Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, bid me come to You on the water.”

Matthew 14:22-33 is about stepping out and walking on the water. And that is what I am going to talk about. Let us look at the trials that we all have gone through to get where we are right now. We have trial after trial, let us look at those trials as a lake. One of our children or a family member or even a friend is or has stepped out of the boat (the safe place) and as they start to walk they start looking around and start to sink, as Peter did.

Our first instinct is to reach out and save them from drowning. However, what we actually just did was just making them have to start over again. Jesus was right there and was going to save them. All they had to do was say “Lord save me” and He would have. However it is their choice to ask for help or not and drown in the problem… We are not helping them we are actually hindering or Lord.
