Ashamed of the Gospel Or Our Calling, Are We?

Not ashamed of the Gospel for we are called to spread the Good News and we can not do it if we are ashamed. I can’t help but wonder are we ashamed? We will not speak up at work or with friends or our family when given the opportunity. I am not saying shove it down anyone’s throat, however our light should be shinning 24/7…

2 Timothy 1:7-11 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11 to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

Just a though, how many of our neighbors know we are Christians or our co-workers etc. That is the point here we are Christians but sometimes it seems like it is hidden. If dirty jokes are being laughed at are we laughing also or do we walk away. Do we pray over our meals when we are out in public?

One statement I have heard a lot is “They took prayer out of school”, did they really. Or did we just stop praying… They CAN NOT take prayer out of school. What we can do is teach our children how to pray and walk. I drive down the road praying. Man has made so many rules and we try and follow them instead of listening to our Father.

What we have to do is teach our children how to walk an pray or in the middle of a test or when they do not understand something. Yes, and over the meal at school they can bow their head and quietly pray a blessing over their meal.

It is time we CHRISTIANS put God back in America… It is time that we stand up and be what we claim to be. One thing that is really bugging me about Facebook is on my timeline there is this thing called STORIES and most of the time there in at least one picture of a half naked woman. Which I do not desire to see, I did not ask for them, I do not desire them, however they are there. So I just stay away from that home page…

I will not allow any one or any thing to decide what I look at or for. If people that follow me do not wish to see Christian stuff they know how to remove themselves from my friends list. I am not saying anyone has to I am just saying that we all have rights and we also have the ability to decide what we wish to see or read…

If we are Christians the scriptures I started with is for you as well. And I think it is time that we take a stand and become all that we are to be… I pray this all in the mighty name of Jesus Christ my Lord and my Savior—AMEN!
