Ask Seek Knock What Do We Do

Ask Seek knock this has been taken out of context for a while and some think we can just ask and then sit down and wait for our Father to get busy.  There are three words there ASK AND SEEK AND KNOCK and after these three things are done guess what then it will be given unto you.

Ask Seek Knock Matthew 7:7-12 (NIV) 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

There are things here that a large amount of people miss and I hope to address them today. The first part of this statement says ASK and people take off and they start in with the asking. However I would like to add something here this sometimes is missed let us look at John 15:4 (KJV) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. The Abiding thing if you abide in God then God will abide in you. or John 14:12 (NIV) Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. Do you see what I am saying. It is not just anyone you have to be a follower of Christ then ASK SEEK KNOCK there is a process.

However after asking one can not turn around and walk off. They will ask and then complain that God did not answer or do what they asked. Well first off if it is a pray that is in order God either said Yes, No or Not Now. Your prayer is heard if not then it was a miss.

This is where some get lost for after ASK there is this word SEEK one has to go and look for it or maybe the seeking is listening for we will ASK and then we will jump up and run off and not listen. If one has time to ASK maybe just maybe they should stop and LISTEN. To seek something out can come in many forms one might just have to do some reading [something that I do not do well, I do not like to read] or watching however one need to SEEK. Then comes KNOCK, and I do not think it means the old saying knock on wood. This KNOCK goes right along with the SEEKING. One needs to go and look and KNOCK and ask and seek and knock. A good example is working, get up in the morning and pray and ask God for a job. Then go out and SEEK start looking going into a business and ask for a job. Next comes the KNOCKING one needs to KNOCK on some doors and guess what God answered with a job. One part God two parts person asking. So ask, seek, knock is a process.
