Believe Everything is Possible

Mark 9: 20-25 (NIV) 20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth. 21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” “From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” 23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” 24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief! 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”

I love this story, there is a lot to be learned here is these few verses, however, today I wish to concentrate on one part. Remembering this is Jesus talking it is not hearsay or someone else it is Jesus. If you can? Jesus is questioning the statement in verse 22 Everything is possible for one who believes. Let us spend our time today right here. Everything is possible, not some things or a few things or maybe or could be or not even might be. Everything is. So what is the requirements? For one who believes… OK let us look at the word believes. What does believe mean: to accept or regard (something) as true, to accept the truth of what is said by someone, to have a specified opinion.

I like the last part of the destination to have a specified opinion, to name or mention someone or something exactly and clearly, to be specific about something. We see here a very clear and great example of healings done today. It is not all on the person praying for someone’s problem it is upon on the person asking not the person doing the healing it is upon the person receiving, in this case, it was the dad of the young man who was deaf and mute. I love his response “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” so for it to work the person praying has to be a true believer and the person receiving has to be a believer not a want to be here anywhere believers I think it is said best this way “A battle is only truly won when the opponent believes he’s been beaten”.

This is not a game for the weak nor for the light-hearted it is a mission for believers. I feel that a lot of places of worship are full of wolves in sheep’s clothing. And there is coming a day when Luke 13:27 well be spoken But He will say, “I tell you, I do not know where [what household—certainly not Mine] you come from; depart from Me, all you wrongdoers!” There is no room in Heave for want to be. We need to see true honest Christians working for God. We need to see the good fruit we need to see results.

It is time for the truth for it WILL set you free.
