Darius And The Plot Against Daniel Ends a Failure

As we read through Daniel chapter 6 we see the process that we go through every day of our lives and we also see why the enemy does not wish that we make it through.  Thus we see Darius and the plot against Daniel ends a failure. Because greater is He that lives in us than he that lives in the world…

Daniel 6:1-4 (NKJV) 1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom; 2 and over these, three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss. 3 Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. 4 So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him.

First let us look at the word:

• Satraps– A governor of a province in ancient Persia.
  In Historical Terms; in ancient Persia a provincial governor, a subordinate ruler, a despotic one
• Subordinate– Belonging to a lower or inferior class or rank; secondary. Subject to the authority or control of another.
• Despotic– Having and exercising complete political power and control. Characterized by or favoring absolute obedience to authority.

Now we start to see why Daniel does not fit in? Daniel already had a King that he listened to and all of this hog wash meant nothing to Daniel and we read in Daniel 6:6-9 Basically says that all will follow the leading of King Darius. And anyone that disagreed would be thrown into the lion’s den.

Now in Daniel 6:10-17 basically says that any one that disagrees the decree, basically Daniel that believes in God, and says He (God) can and will deliver him from the lions so he thrown into the Lions Den and a large stone places and sealed by Darius.

In Daniel 6: 18-23 Now here is where we hear an argument from the unsaved or atheist that say they did not eat Daniel for they were not hungry I have even heard that the King fed them before throwing Daniel in. Then let us look at Daniel 6:24 when the ones that accused Daniel were thrown in they were eaten before they hit the ground. As usual they did not read the whole story.

Daniel 6:25-26 Then King Darius wrote:
To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth:
Peace be multiplied to you. 26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel.

In summary, do we have the faith of Daniel we walk into the Lions Den daily we have a choice we can stand with the Lord no matter what we are facing or we can give in to the world and be eaten up. It is our choice…
