FAITH Apart From Works is Dead

FAITH in, the new King James version, describes the FAITH that James wrote about. This is what mine says…. FAITH without works cannot be called FAITH. James 2:26 (ESV) For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

Dead FAITH is worse than no FAITH at all. FAITH must work; it must produce; it must be visible. Verbal FAITH is not enough; mental FAITH is insufficient. FAITH must be there, but it must be more. It must inspire action. Through the epistle to Jewish believers, James integrates true FAITH & every day practical experiences by stressing that true FAITH must manifest itself in works of FAITH.

FAITH endures trials. Trials will come and go, but good FAITH will face them head-on and develop endurance. it understands temptation. It will not allow us to consent to our lust and slide into sin. FAITH obeys the word. It will not merely hear and not do. It produces doers. It harbors no prejudices. For James, FAITH and favoritism cannot coexist. It displays itself in works. It is more than mere words, it is more than knowledge; it is demonstrated by obedience; and it overtly responds to the promises of God. It also controls the tongue. This small but immensely powerful part of the body must be held in check. FAITH can do it. It acts wisely. It gives us the ability to choose wisdom that is heavenly & to shun wisdom that is earthly. FAITH produces separation from the world & submission to God. It provides us with the ability to resist the devil & humanly draw near to God. Finally, FAITH waits patiently for the coming of the Lord. Through trouble & trials it stifles complaining.

In James chapter 1 we see the testing of faith   James 1:2-4 (ESV) 2 Count it all joy, my brothers,[adelphoi refers to siblings in a family] when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Note: adephoi in the Greek it may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family.

A note from the Admin…  We are in a time of turmoil and we need or Lord.  We will either stand with our Father or fall with out enemy.  There is no in-between we are either Christian or not it is time to do something sitting on the sideline has never been a choice.  We are either in our out. In Matthew 12:33 (NKJV) “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. Then we read Matthew 12:30 (NKJV) He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad. Then finally we read in Matthew 12:37 (NKJV) For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
