Acts 12: 5-18 

What do we see here as we read: Herod had Peter in chains in prison. An Angel of the Lord released him, The Angel opened locked gates and set Peter free. Then we read in Acts 12:23 Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.

I see a description of Salvation… Peter was bound in chains and locked away by Herod. As an unsaved person, we are bound with chains and held captive by our enemy satan. An Angel of the Lord came to Peter and told him to get ready and then set him free the Angel took off the chains unlocked the cell and the gates and set him free. A Christian tell an unsaved one about Jesus and tells him what he must do and sets him free from his sin. Thus Peter freed from prison, or sinners set free from their prison…

That is what we do we set the captives free when we tell them about the saving grace of God. And then they go tell others and in the end, satan is killed or his powers are destroyed and he is sent to hell for eternity. Try reading Acts 12 and read it as a story of salvation and see what you get out of it…
