Have Your own way, we sing it the question is do we understand it and do we allow it to happen? Are we actually willing to let Him have His own way with our lives? So let’s look at the words to this song and see if we actually mean it or is it just a song to sing in church?

[Do we really mean this? Do we desire Him to have His own way?]

[Are we actually waiting?]

[Do we really mean have His own way with us?]

Search me and try me, Master, today.

[Do we really wish Him to search and try us?]

Whiter than snow, Lord, Wash me just now,

[Are we ready for Him to clean us up?]

As in Thy presence Humbly I bow.

[Do we desire to bow in His presence?]

Have Thine own way, Lord, Have Thine own way;

[Do we really mean have His own way with us?]

Wounded and weary, Help me, I pray.

[He will help us if we ask and allow Him to help us.]

Power, all power, Surely is Thine,

[Will we truly turn our WHOLE life over to Him?]

Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.

[Are we ready for Him to TOUCH and HEAL us?]

Have Thine own way, Lord, Have Thine own way;

[Do we really mean have His own way with us?]

Hold o’er my being Absolute sway.

[Have we actually given Him TOTAL and COMPLETE control?]

Fill with Thy Spirit Till all shall see

[Will we trust in Him until we will stand in His presents?]

Christ only, always, Living in me.

[Does He really live in us?]

Wow, a lot of things said in this song. We have sang it time and time again and if not this one there are many more. Many more just as strong. Do we mean it or is it a lip service we are offering and hoping that will be enough.

The Lord has given us another day to repent and get it right. This choice is not a game it is something that we aim at. Will we do it right all the time I really do not think so however we will keep working toward it and trying. The only perfect man died on a cross so we can be with our Father one day. So let us keep working toward the final goal…
