Highways and Byways

Matthew chapter 7 is a chapter we could spend a lot of time in and probably will. However I want to look at verses 13 and 14 with a different turn. I have been taught this as the end paths of Heaven and Hell for sinners need to make a choice. The reason being is verses that follows these. Verses 15-20 are about True and False Prophets and Verses 21-23 are about True and False Disciples. Then Verses 24-27 about Wish and Foolish Builders.
I went back and read verses 13-14 with a different mind-set. And this is what I found. In today’s world here in America, there are approximately 338,000 in American and there are approximately 30,000 Denominations in the world. With that thought and the verses that followed about False Prophets and False Disciples. Then another Pastors comments and teaching I think I have stumbled up on a new way of looking at verses 13-14.
Matthew 7:13-14 (NIV) 13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
This scripture starts out saying “Enter through the NARROW GATE” and the next words say “For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction” that made me stop and go hummmmmm. Maybe this is deeper than I have been taught. America is full of Church building that are not telling the whole truth, in fact there are some that is not telling the truth period. There is a statement going around that goes something like this “You are all right and I am all right and we all are going to make it.” Well I believe that is a lie. This is where the FALSE PROPHETS come in. We need to get them saved baptized and give them a membership card and they are in [A LIE]. Of course to make sure you are a member you need to keep your dues paid up [tithes and offerings] so we can have or build bigger and better homes.
I was reading where a Pastor is buying or bought a 10.5 Million Dollar home. My first though was how many hungry people would that feed and clothe. Then I think about Matthew 6:24 (NIV) “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. 1 Timothy 6:10 (NIV) For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. I find quite a few that are living in homes worth millions, driving elaborate cars and there are members in their churches that can not afford to pay their rent or utility bills or eat. Let us get back to where I started here Matthew 7:13-14, after reading these scriptures over and over. I believe this is talking to the REAL CHURCH I believe there are many FALSE PROPHETS and they are selling us out for the all mighty dollar. Many church building today the TRUTH can not be found there, OH we hear a lot of parcel truths however not the whole truth.
I am here today believing that a majority of today’s churches are standing as the wide gate and the people are being lied to and deceived. I honestly believe that some of the Pastors have been taught the untruths from some schools. However the gate is WIDE and the road is BROAD and MANY will be deceived and will enter in. The other side of the story the gate is NARROW and FEW will enter in. So now even this verse makes more sense Matthew 7: 21-23 (NIV) 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ There are many Highways and Byways that is why we need to study and read and pray.
