Is Your Eyes Wide Shut

I am starting this with the name of a movie I saw back years age with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman called “Eyes Wide Shut” I did not like the movie than and I don’t think a lot of people did, however I did like the title. Way would you say that I am sure some are saying.

In today’s world that is exactly what is going on by Christians, we are walking around not seeing or saying anything. Today we are seeing government saying it is OK for same-sex marriages, legalizing Marijuana, babies being murdered by the millions, illegals walking the streets with no fear of being deported or jailed, this is only a few of the things.

We attend our favorite church usually because it is the place to be. I got wrapped up in that I even worked in two of them so I know what goes on. Is it about the money YES, I worked at one of the largest churches in America and one day I was called into the office by the church treasurer. He started out with as an employ you are expected to tithe, I sat there for a minute and I looked at him and this was my response. “Sir, is their money in the offering that is not in an envelope, is there any money that is in an envelope that has no name on them?” He sits there for a couple of seconds and the answer was yes. Then I said “my offering is from my heart I do not expect a tax break from the government and I do not think what I give or how much is anyone business, it is a gift and/or my tithe it is between God and me and it is none of your business.” “The Pastor is telling everyone a lie when he stands up from of the church and says no one is keeping track of what anyone is giving. For you are recording the giving of everyone that fills out those stupid envelopes. Well I will not have not and am not ever going to do that what I give is my business not yours.”

I stood up looked at him for a minute and then I said. Take this as my two-week notice, and turned and walked out of the door. I left there and went to work at a job out side the church for a while then went back to work at another big church then the Pastor resigned and two weeks later I did also. The church I am a member of has less than 200 members and I love it and I believe this is the way it should be. I know  of a few mega churches that are of God however I believe that the REAL churches are those that trust God to meet their needs and actually know the members is the small churches.

We read in Proverbs 3:5 (NIV) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; again in Psalm 37:4-6 (NIV) 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.

I will admit that I finally got so disgusted with todays church that I walked away. I was tired of the games and the lies. I found out why the Pastor walked away from the church he had built from basically nothing. I started to understand the games that were played. I was just totally disgusted because it was not about God it was about the money if a good tither made a statement or was involved in a disagreement then they were right period. I watched 3 churches turn into a business. I watched them become money motivated. Romans 8:28 (NKJV) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. This became a by-product money became their god.

Am I saying all mega churches are not of God NO. I can never say all of anything is or is not of God for according to  Luke 3:8 (NKJV) it says; Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. We are told also in Luke 6:43-45 (NKJV) 43 “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. So yes I do believe some are walking around with eyes wide shut for the are open however not seeing anything. They are only hearing what they desire to hear and only accept the parts of the Bible that make them feel good. Thus the question is your eyes wide shut.

So I am saying we here in “Abounding Love Ministries Worldwide and The Prayer Outreach” are more of a CHURCH that a lot of this buildings in the world are. We pray without questioning we believe in our hearts that we are serving the King of kings and the Lord of lords. We accept the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. I believe we have a group of Real Christians here. Love of our brothers and sisters here is felt by all. We all have a big part to play here and we have accepted our role as God tells us that we are all a part of the body of Christ. So let it be in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth…
