Jesus Tells Us Do Not Worry About Your Life

Jesus tells us not to worry, not to store up worldly things, help the needy, do not worry about our lives.  We are covered by the shed blood of Jesus Christ and we are joint aires with Him…

Matthew 6:25-34 (NKJV) 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

We need to learn this lesson and the sooner the better. After reading this I realized that there is an order here and it is the order of Jesus and His desire. I have sat in a building they call a church and watch others pray and pray and pray and then get angry with Jesus nor God answers. So with that thought let us look at verse 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. What do we need to do first? Not second, not 15th nor I will do it later… SEEK FIRST, we need to seek His KINGDOM, His RIGHTEOUSNESS and then ALL THESE THINGS will be GIVEN to us.  See Jesus died so that we might live

In these 10 verses, we read 6 times about worrying. I figured out a long time ago that worrying is only good for ULCERS and GRAY HAIR. It will do nothing as in verse 27 it will not add a single hour to your life. So instead of worrying let us get right with God, how can we do that?  Let us get rid of all anger and malicious. We are told in Matthew 5:23-24 We are told if someone has something against us that we should leave our offering at the altar and go be reconciled to them. We need to [putting it in Jyms language] get right with God then these things will be added, understand what Jesus did for us all…

I pray this helps us as we learn what Jesus did and then how we should live according to Jesus…
