1 Peter 3:18-20 (MEV)

18 For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom He also went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who in times past were disobedient, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

The Who

Jesus Christ.

The What

Suffered for sins—our sins—for the just and the unjust.

The Why

To bring us to God.

The How

Being put to death in the flesh and being made alive by the Spirit…
