The Law and the Prophets Is It For Me?

The law of the Prophets is not for me for I am not a Prophet. What is a Prophet?  The chief spokesperson of a movement or cause. So, are you saved, are you telling others about the scripture? Just in case one might say that is not my job or place… Read on please.

Matthew 7:12 (MEV) Therefore, everything you would like men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

We read in Matthew 28:18-20 (MEV) 18 Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

First what or who is a disciple? One who embraces and assists in spreading the teachings of another.
What or who is a prophet ? A person who speaks by divine inspiration or as the interpreter through whom the will of a god is expressed. The chief spokesperson of a movement or cause.

In today’s world I believe we all are Prophets or Disciples if we are Christians. We are taught that we should tell others about the salvation and life of a Christian so now let is see what Matthew 7:12 is there for Matthew 7:9-11 (MEV) 9 “What man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a snake? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Now it is very personal so I think one needs to have a long pray with the Lord about why are we here on this earth and what should I be doing. Ones walk, ones talk, ones actions is an example of our Lord so maybe we need to rethink about our purpose.
