A liar and the father of it according to John 8:44 (MEV) You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Who was Jesus speaking to in this scripture? Jews that did not believe him. That did not believe he was the Messiah. It is no different today, the lost believe in a liar and do not wish to hear the truth. People find it easy to believe in the defeated one because he offers all the things that one lusts after. However in the end, when it is too late they will want to believe.

The problem is they made a decision while on this earth an hell stands before them and they see now the truth and I believe they will see all those that tried to tell them and they did not desire to listen. Our duty is to spread the good news. Matthew 28:18-20 tell us the question is are we listening?
