Love and Compassion

John 13:34 (ESV) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. John 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. I think in today’s world the meaning of Love and Compassion has been lost. So let us take a look at Love and Compassion:
Love– A strong feeling of affection and concern toward another person, as that arising from kinship or close friendship. A feeling of devotion or adoration toward God or a god. A feeling of kindness or concern by God or a god toward humans, often Love Christianity Charity.
In today’s world– A strong feeling of affection and concern for another person accompanied by sexual attraction. Sexual desire or activity: the pleasures of love; a night of love. An instance of being in love, Teenage loves can be as fleeting as they are intense.
Compassion– A disposition to be kind and forgiving; the humane quality of understanding the suffering of others and wanting to do something about it
In today’s world– A feeling of distress and pity for the suffering or misfortune of another, often including the desire to alleviate it.
Ephesians 5 (NKJV) Walk in Love verses 1-7 Walk in Light 8-14 Walk in Wisdom 15-21 Marriage— Christ and the Church 22-33 Ephesians 6: Children and Parents 1-4 and just to see how this has been taken by the world the words are moving and changing. I was raised as a boy who when I grew up it was my duty to take care of the family. In today’s world there are more men sitting at home trying to be a mom and the MOM is out working trying to be the man…
Am I saying moms should not work NO. However as a child I never walked in the home that my mother was not there until I was 15 or 16 then she got her hair dressers licenses and opened a Beauty Shop and did that Tuesday through Saturday. She would then come home and fix supper. However in today’s world things are being changed. Look at the movies, the commercials they are turning men into wimps and that is not Gods way. Genesis 2:18-22 (NKJV) It does not say door mate either. I learned that marriage is not a 50-50 thing is a 100-100 thing one has to give all to receive all.

When I met Tony I had no intentions of going out with anyone guys were jerks I decided!! I HAD LEFT WHERE I WAS LIVING AND CAME TO LIVE WITH MY MAMA. I WAS GONNA GET ME A JOB AND TO HECK WITH MEN!! But my younger sister had just came back from riding with Tony on his dirt bike and she wanted me to take a ride so she wouldn’t get in trouble with our Mama. And I’m thinking no way!! Well she kept on so I went. And we came back and that was that! Well not long Tony wanted if I would go out, and if that weren’t enough my mom was renting the trailer from his dad two house’s away!! So I went and we had fun but I didn’t plan on making a habit of it!! Well time went by and I fell hard I mean, in love with him. I thought I kew what love was. Well we heathens got married a year later. 15 years later we got saved and that was it I fell in love with JESUS!! I finally knew what real love was!! I didn’t get much love at home no hugs or kisses it was pain all the time! But I .ever kew this kind of love!! I’m still in love with Jesus, now this mu seem strange but I love Jesus so much it literally hurts, deep in my inner inner man they call it. I can’t explain it but when Im in his presence, and I start feeling that love it gose deep and it hurts. People would think I was crazy I told them but you might think it too. But I have never known such love as this!! Im in it deep!!
Amen Gina it took me 65 years to understand and find true love and Debbie is it so I know what you are talking about.
