Love One Another

1 John 3:14 (NIRV) We know that we have left our old dead way of life. And we have entered into new life. We know this because we love one another.  Anyone who doesn’t love still lives in their old condition.

I read this and it sat me back in my chair. There has been times in my life when I found this one hard to follow and I do think we all have been there. Then I read it again Love One Another OK Love: [Now there were a list of definitions however most I would not post here so I picked this one] To feel devotion to or to show kindness or concern to someone. OK the scripture did not say LIKE it said LOVE. Now let us look at the definition of like: To find pleasant, attractive or enjoy. We are not commanded or told to LIKE however we are to LOVE. That is the motto of ALMs “Loving God… Loving People.”

Romans 13:8 (NKJV) Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Galatians 5:13 (NKJV) For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Ephesians 4:2 (NKJV) with all lowliness and gentleness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love,

1 Peter 1:22 (NKJV) Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit[a] in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,

1 John 4:7 (NKJV) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

And last however not the least is Matthew 5:43-48 (NKJV) 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

I hope this might help us through some rough spots in the road and make us a little stronger in our walk for Jesus…
