MORNING PRAYER and DEVOTIONAL for Thursday June 4, 2020

The Morning Prayer is praying for our enemies. Do we and should we let us listen to and learn from our Lord and Savior. He knows what we are to do as Christians and if we do anything different then we are not doing as He instructed us to do.

Is Honoring Our Lord A Sacrifice To Him

Psalm 4:5 (NKJV) Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

I have thought about this for days now and last night my Pastor made it about as clear as it can be. This started 2 days ago when I tried to help a young lady when she said she heard from the Lord and He told her that she was not to pray for the Police. Well I am sorry but I do not think it was the Lord that she heard from.

We read what Solomon says in Proverbs 4:1-5 (NKJV) 1 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding; 2 For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law. 3 When I was my father’s son, Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother, 4 He also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live 5 Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.

So then we read in Matthew 5:43-45 (NKJV) 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Let us go back to chapter 4 and read in Matthew 4:17 (NKJV) 17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven [has drawn near]is at hand.” I think Jesus was saying here HAVE FAITH and BELIEVE in what he was saying is He was about to give His life so that we could go to Heaven.

If we read on in chapter 5 we see in Matthew 5:46-48 (NKJV) 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your [a]brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Loving those who love you that is not a big deal, however, LOVING those who hate you is doing what the Father has done and is about to do. Jesus knew why He was here and what he had to do. If you have read you know that He was (this might sound harsh but true) hated by a large group of people for what He was teaching.

Lord I think it is one of the hardest things we are told to do is TO LOVE OUR ENEMIES but that is what we are told to do. I guess this is where I say again, this is where the RUBBER meets the ROAD and it is time to be WHO’S we say we are…

If we are Christians we are to love our enemies. Most of them wish we would SHUT UP or DIE but our Lord says LOVE THEM then as Christians we must love our enemies. I remember reading in another Ministry, “Making Life Count Ministries” and I thought it said is so very well. A Roman soldier says to a Christian, “Hey you, carry my pack.” The Christian says, “Yes sir!” And then

he joyfully starts walking along with the soldier. After one mile the soldier says, “Okay, you can put it

down now.” The believer says, “I would really like to carry it another mile for you.” The shocked soldier asks, “Why would you do that?” The Christian explains, “I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and He told us to do this for you.” The soldier asks, “Who is this Jesus that you follow?” By carrying the pack an extra mile, it not only showed him the love of God but opened up an opportunity to tell him about Jesus. There’s no telling how many soldiers became Christians during that second mile. I’m sure we would see a lot more people become Christians if we would just go “the extra mile” for them.

As it was with me when I was lost I had to get so far down that all I could do was look up. Even now sometimes I have to be slapped down to see the truth and hear what I am being told. So I had to remove a lady I was trying to turn around as Jesus did with the MONEY CHANGERS in the Temple. I was not happy about it but I was not about to let one person DESTROY what our Lord has built here.

Father I pray that these words are from You and I have done as I have directed all the praise and glory is yours and I pray that it brings others closer to You in the Wonderful and Precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior I do pray this all—AMEN!
