Morning Prayer For Thursday April 25, 2019

Morning Prayer a subject that I love. I look forward to the time I spend with my Father, with Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It is the time early in the morning and I know my Father is here for me. I have noticed that sometimes what He wants me to say or do is more important than others.

They all are important but some more so. He tells me right away what He wants me to say and then there are the times when I have written and written before I get the subject. That is why I said more important. I am thankful for what He has done and is doing for my and with me.

I remember when this all started and how He got me here. That lady was something else and I pray that she really found or fines Jesus. However she is who my Father used to get me started. In September it will be 5 years that we have been here.

I thank You Father for putting up with me and showing me what to do. I thank You for honoring me with the stewardship of being the Shepherd of this flock. I thank You for the wisdom that has come, and is coming from this and I thank You for the time I get to spend with You here.

This is the time of the day that I look forward to. The one where I get to communicate with and listen to my Father, my Daddy and my Hero… It is such an honor to be the Shepherd of these groups. I know and understand that it is Yours and that You chose me.

I pray now for the wisdom, the understanding, the discernment, and the knowledge to do what You have called me to do. I thank you for all You have done and are doing I thank you for using a reformed sinner like me for this job and it is an honor to serve You…

Yesterday was my 37th year of salvation. When I said yes and meant it. The change has taken and is taking years however I am Yours Father because without You I am nothing. As I type this Morning Prayer I always am excited to find out where You are sending me. However what is, to me, the best is when You show me what You desire me to say…

Let us take a look at John 4:11 (MEV) The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?

We should back up and see why she said this first John 4:7-10 (MEV) 7 A woman of Samaria came there to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

John 4:13-15 (MEV) 13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water that I shall give him will become in him a well of water springing up into eternal life.”15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not thirst, nor come here to draw.”

He Shows Her Who He Is In LOVE

John 4:16-19 (MEV) 16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”17 The woman answered, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You are right in saying, ‘I have no husband,’ 18 for you have had five husbands, and he whom you now have is not your husband. So you have spoken truthfully.”19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.

Now Let Us Look At This Story A Gift Of God

This is what Jesus meant. When He said “ The ‘Gift Of God’ is the Holy Spirit. The woman at the time could not have understood that. But Jesus came to change us by his *Holy Spirit. If we want a drink, water helps us. If we want God, Jesus can help us. We know this from Jeremiah 31:31-34. But the woman did not think about her spiritual life. Then Jesus explained the purpose of the ‘Gift Of God’.

Jesus Draws Out The Woman’s Sin

Jesus says her you have been married five men. And the man that you are now living with is not your husband. With that she immediately knew that Jesus was not an ordinary man. An ordinary man could not know these things about her. So, she thinks Jesus was a prophet. She tried to change the subject. She did not want to talk about her sin. She talked about the argument between the Jews and the Samaritans. She talked about the right place for worship. Jesus replied, A new time was coming. Then men would not worship at either place. They would worship God in spirit and truth.

The Messiah Is Coming

The woman said that she knew this. She knew that the *Messiah was coming. He would explain everything. Jesus now tells the woman, ‘I the one who speaks to you am He’. Now what He says next was a wonderful thing to say. Jesus had been very careful when he spoke about himself to the priests in Jerusalem. They thought that they were very good men. But it was to this woman that Jesus said this. He told her clearly who he was.

What She Did Next

After this, the woman went to her town and told everybody. Jesus stayed there for two days. Many people believed in him. This shows us much about what Jesus did. People often said that he should not spend time with bad people. He should not be with sinners, because good people would not talk to them.

There is so much more to this story however I am going to stop here for we need to understand that we are representatives of Jesus and we need to know and understand who we are before we can tell others what and who they are. That is why I am working on a book that will teach us about us and who we are.
