Peter Freed from Prison an Example of Freedom from Sin

Peter, I believe here, is used as an example of the bondage of sin. Sin is nothing more or less that a bondage of the enemy. The guards are the fallen angels that work with our enemy, the defeated one, and try to keep us in bondage

Acts 12:5-10 (NKJV) 5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

This is a perfect example of the power of our Lord and how he can set us free for the changes that bind us daily. A simple honest prayer from the heart will be heard by our Father and the chains well fall off of us. The enemy is not able to keep us in that prison of sin even with his guards our Lord and Savior will walk us out of the prison of sin. All we have to do is believe and desire to be free.

John 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Our Father desires that we LIVE free of sin and the chains that bind us to it. I pray today that we all rise up and denounce the defeated one and walk out of that prison of sin…
