Possessions some have much and some have very little or none. The question is are we willing to give up what we have if God asked or told us to. The key word is IF, not saying He would am asking are we WILLING to… Jesus knew the young man was wealthy and knew where his heart was. That is why he asked him that question.

Possessions-Are We Willing To Give All Up?

Jym Wells

Matthew 19:23 (MEV) Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly, I say to you that it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Here we read Jesus is talking to the disciples when He makes this statement. Before he had been speaking with the rich young man and had said to him go and sell all you have and give to the poor.

Matthew 19:22 (MEV) But when the young man heard this, he went away sorrowful. For he had great possessions.

The word I am looking at here is sorrowful. He did not wish to give up all he had for he was very rich. I do not believe Jesus actually meant for him to give it up. I believe he was showing him he would not. That is the point was he willing to give it up…

There is nothing wrong with being rich the problem is the riches are before God so his riches had become his god. Are we willing to give it up is the question. Give up whatever if asked to. Are we willing to sell our home and feed the hungry if our Father asked us to. Are we willing to empty our bank account or sell all our stocks and feed the hungry?

Those are the questions are we willing to give it ALL up if we were asked or told to would we? See I see two scriptures that come here:

One is Matthew 19:26 (MEV) But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

And the other is Luke 1:37 (AMP) For with God nothing [is or ever] shall be impossible.

That is why Jesus said in Matthew 19:23 (MEV) Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly, I say to you that it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Not impossible but HARD because his god is his possessions. Again “Possessions Are We Willing To Give All Up?”

Our Father said in Exodus 20:3 (MEV) You shall have no other gods before Me. And in, Deuteronomy 5:7 (MEV) You shall have no other gods before Me.

Also we find our Father is a JEALOUS God for I found it in the Old Testament 13 time and the New Testament 2 times… We have to be willing to give it all up if asked. There is that word again IF not saying He would am asking IF he would ask what would your answer be? Yes or no would you walk away, as the rich young man with a heavy heart? Are would you so OK?

Thank you for reading and may God bless and be with you and watch over you. And let us understand, it is time for us to BLESS GOD…

Memory Verse May 16, 2019

Matthew 19:17 (MEV) 17 He replied to him, “Why do you call Me good? There is One who is good. But if you would enter life, keep the commandments.”
