Are You Hanging Out With The Old You?

I heard a song on the radio today “Loving On The Back Street and Living On Main”, and there came that word. How many does it hit? Being honest, think about that statement before you answer…

Something that has been on my mind for years. For the most part, if the Ministry is of God and stands with God I have no problem. The goal of this Ministry is to see people saved and growing in the Lord and His word. Not all Ministries are wrong or are all Ministries, right? What I have learned is that it is not my duty nor is it my place to correct everyone with my thoughts if not asked.

2 Peter 2:20-22 (NKJV) 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

There is only one perfect and He is in charge and He will take care of that problem. My job is to work at getting others saved and growing in Christ. We need to become what Christ has called each of us to be and/or do what he has called us to do. God did not call us to do nothing, He has an assignment for each of us. So are we all listening to our Father or are we playing?

Well God has not told me what I am to do. OK, then how many people do you see and/or talk to each day? Who do they see and what do they hear out of your mouth? Without saying a word you can be and are a representative of Christ if you are a Christian in your actions and speech. When one gets saved one changes or should change. Do we do the same old things or do we change the places we go and the things we do?

Being a Christian is a 24/7 thing it is not Sunday and Wednesday night thing. Repeating is something that we all need to get used to. If someone says they do not sin anymore they just did… I sat and read the 10 commandments without faith it is not possible for a human to keep them. Just a fact, that is why Jesus was born and died for us, yes he died on that cross so we could go to Heaven and if we repent of our daily sins we can and will meet our Father one day.

This is a life that we have chosen as Christians, we repented and asked for forgiveness, and instantly we were forgiven now it is up to us to follow the Lord and become all He desires us to be. Sometimes I think some think it is over when they say a sinner’s prayer. The Lord will take over now and fix everything, Well I wish it was that easy but it is a learning experience from the beginning to the end. The Holy Spirit is here to help us and we all need to learn to listen to and do what we are supposed to do as Christians.

So I pray that this little article will help you to understand one’s part in this Christian walk and help you get through it and we will meet again one day in Heaven and hear these words “Enter in my good and faithful servant!” Amen!
