Luke 4:18 (NKJV) “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

We first read this in Isaiah 61:1 (CJB) The Spirit of Adonai Elohim is upon me because Adonai has anointed me to announce good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted; to proclaim freedom to the captives, to let out into light those bound in the dark;

Let me take us back to Luke 4:16 it was the Sabbath and it was Jesus’ time to read and the scroll of Isiah was laid out before him and he went to what we would call Chapter 61:1 and he read. Now this was brought to my attention. For those of you that do not know my wife Debbie is a Jew so she explained to me that the Torah is written without any vowels and there is not the punctuation that is in the English language. So Jesus had to be very educated to read this and He had to be familiar with the scroll because he found the place where it was written and he read.

He was saying what he was born for and what he was here on earth to do:

•  To heal the brokenhearted.
•  To proclaim liberty to the captives (to save all from the darkness of the enemy)
•  To recover sight to the blind
•  To set at Liberty those who are oppressed.

This is why Jesus willingly was nailed to a cross as nothing more than a common thief, His naked, bloody body hanging there for the world to see he had been beaten, make fun of , a crown of thorns placed on His head. He did not react to the mistreatment or did not, and I do believe could have, get down off the cross and call in legions of Waring Angels to show them who was boss—to win the battle to say. Instead, he said “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” hung his hand and said “It is finished” and died. The story does not end there this is just the beginning. They put in in a borrowed tomb and covered it with a stone and three days later—He got up folded those grave clothes and walked out of that tomb ALIVE and is still alive…

Now there is something to shout about and to get excited about our Lord and Savior is Alive he is not dead and Brothers and Sisters we are about to see the power of our Lord in a way that will shake the foundation of this earth. I say today to the world “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet”
