Stumbling is what we do because of who and what is in this world and in turn unsaved one is destined to hell. We all have this choice and we all have to decide who we wish to follow…

Stumbling Out Of Disobedience And Rejecting The Cornerstone

by Jym Wells

1 Peter 2:7-8 (MEV) 7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious. But to those who are disobedient, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” 8 and, “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble because they are disobedient to the word, to which also they were appointed.

Let us do a couple things before we go back and see what it is here for…

First

Psalm 118:22 (MEV) The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. We see that as the stone the builders rejected. [1 Peter 2:7]

Second

Isaiah 8:14 (MEV) He shall become a sanctuary, but a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. [1 Peter 2:8]

The coming of Christ was seen in the Old Testament time after time. One question who rejected Him then and who is rejecting Him now?

Now Let Us See What It Is Therefore

1 Peter 2:4-6 (MEV) 4 Coming to Him as to a living stone who is rejected by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up into a spiritual house as a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For also it is contained in the Scripture, “Look! I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes in Him shall never be put to shame.”

Also Found In

A Cornerstone in Zion Isaiah 28:16 (MEV) Therefore, thus says the Lord God:
See, I lay in Zion a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, firmly placed; he who believes shall not act hastily.

Jesus is predicted all through the Old Testament He was rejected over and over before He came and then after He came He had to die on a cross so that we might be saved. Bottom line is we have a choice and each one has to make it on their on. Either YES I believe Jesus is my Savior or NO I do not believe. There is no in-between, no middle ground you are either ALL IN or ALL OUT.

We Have To Make A Choice

Joshua 24:14-15 (MEV) 14 “Now fear the Lord, and serve Him with sincerity and faithfulness. Put away the gods your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord. 15 If it is displeasing to you to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve, if it should be the gods your fathers served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites’ land where you are now living. Yet as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Memory Verse December 8, 2018

John 3:17 (MEV) For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
