The Time Has Come to Clean Out The Garage

The time has come, actually, it came the day we got saved and we are just hanging onto our old junk. We have a garage (so to speak) full, however, we hang onto this and that or we lay it at the altar then take it back when we get up. Most of us lay it all at the altar and take most of it back before we get back to our set…

Luke 6:41-42 (NKJV) 41 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? 42 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First, remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

This is a story about Jesus talking about us in our life we see a little speck in our neighbor’s eye and we have a plank in ours—so I turned it into something we have today—a garage. The neighbor has his garage so full he can hardly get out of his car you say to your wife. She looks out the window at your car and with a smile, she says at least he can put his car in the garage, is it time?

Then you come back with yes. However, my garage is full of important stuff that I need and use. As she walks away she says “one mans junk is another man’s treasure” and smiles as she goes back into the kitchen. She is so true however she has a bedroom or a sewing room full of her junk. I think it is time for a house cleaning. From across the street, you hear (not really just in your mind (the Holy Spirit)) tell me how dirty my garage is when you clean yours out… It is time to do just that for God we need to get rid of all the unGodly junk in our lives—think about it…
