To Learn From You

Galatians 3:2 (NKJV) This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

As I read this I thought of us today, did we become Born Again by works of the law or did we receive it by hearing of Faith? Hearing what through Faith would be the next question. We read in Ephesians 2:8-8 (NKJV) For by GRACE you have been saved through FAITH, and that not of YOURSELF; it is the GIFT of God, 9 not of WORKS, lest anyone should boast.

So can we earn our SALVATION? Can we work real hard and get it? Can we get it by owning a Bible or two or three? Can we gain it by being good? Can we earn it by being good? The answer is NO! Salvation is a GIFT [something not earned] from God.

How someone might ask? Well let’s see John 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He GAVE His ONLY begotten Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to CONDEMN the world, but that the world through Him might be SAVED. Also we see Romans 3:10 As it is written: “There is none RIGHTEOUS, no, not one; Romans 3:23 for all have SINNED  and fall short of the glory of God,

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God in Him.  So again can we earn SALVATION? Not according to what we have just read. So now let us look at Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) 9 that if you CONFESS with your MOUTH the Lord Jesus and BELIEVE in your HEART that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the HEART one BELIEVES unto righteousness, and with the MOUTH CONFESSION is made unto salvation. Now the question I have to ask again can one earn ones SALVATION.

Now that you are saved we read in James 1:2-4 (NKJV) 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the TESTING of your FAITH produces PATIENCE. 4 But let PATIENCE have its PERFECT WORK, that you may be PERFECT and COMPLETE, lacking nothing.
I did not say that we would do nothing I said there was nothing we could do to EARN Salvation. However as a Christian there are things that we do not to earn anything ourselves it is to help others and maybe teach them about God by our actions.

I have heard all sorts of arguments about it however I believe in GRACE by FAITH and there is no other way. I wonder every day why do we chase the OLD PERSON and try to hang onto that OLD PERSON for we read in Galatians 2:20-21 (NKJV) 20 I [OLD PERSON before Salvation] have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I [OLD PERSON] who live, but Christ lives in me [NEW PERSON after salvation]; and the life which I [NEW PERSON] now live in the flesh I[NEW PERSON] live by FAITH in the Son of God, who loved me and GAVE Himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the GRACE of God; for if righteousness comes THROUGH THE LAW, then Christ DIED IN VAIN.”

I pray that this opens some doors and closes a lot of others, my desire is that the members of this group understand why and how and understand that accepting Jesus and living by Faith that we all are in a better place and no matter what happens or what comes our way that we are in the hand of our Father and no one or nothing can TAKE us away from Him as seen in John 10:28-29 (NKJV) 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. So I hope now that we all understand who we are in Christ and know where we are going.
