Warning Against Idolatry

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (NIV) 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial [Greek Beliar, variant of Belial]? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
- “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
- 17 Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”
- 18 And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
What do RIGHTEOUSNESS and DARKNESS have in common or LIGHT and DARKNESS so what does a believer and an unbeliever. This not saying you should not talk to or Minister to it is talking about being involved with. You know the dirty joke at work, do you stand around and laugh with them. One should not do that I know walking away is not the in thing to do. However it is the right thing to do. Or on payday the boys go down to the bar for a few brews and you do not want them to talk and stop hanging with you. Well I myself do not wish to be with them. Or ladies sitting around jabbering about this one or that one, it is time to excuse oneself.
We need to be a light in a dark place. There was a commercial on TV about an eye can see the light of a candle the length of 10 Football fields. So I think it is time that we start becoming that light in a dark world. it is time that we start hanging with our Father. Now let’s not go off the deep end. I have a saying let us not be so Heavenly minded that we are no earthly good and at the same time let’s not be so earthly minded that we are no Heavenly good. The Bible is a tool to keep us in the middle of the road not in either ditch on the sides of that road.
There is one road one way is to Hell the other way is to Heaven. We can help others pick the right direction… This is a Warning Against Idolatry.

You know my boss at work will come to me and talk vulgar about women and i tell him i am not like that any more, that God has change me, and i walk away. but it is like he doesn’t hear me; and before i know he will do it again,all the time. i just walk away. i am not ashamed, i am not afraid.because the Lord is always with me.so Jym, i can relate to this. this is good i pray that all members read this Devotional.
