Galatians 5:19-21 (MEV) 19 Now the works of the flesh are revealed, which are these: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, rage, selfishness, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I previously warned you, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:22-26 (MEV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, and self-control; against such there is no law. 24 Those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be conceited, provoking one another and envying one another.

Here in Galatians 5 we find the sinful nature in verses 19-21 and the the fruits of the Spirit in verses 22-26. This seems to be a good measure of ones life. The sad part of this devotional is that we can not live in both. The enemy would like to make one think they can however ain’t happening. One side or the other.

This the place where one meets the truth where are we. Where does one desire to be and how does one get there… ONE STEP AT A TIME. Yes we will slip and fall and that is not the problem how many times one gets back up is the answer. God our Father will never give up on us. We give up on Him though and thus a sinful life…

Verse 26 give us the answer and shows us the enemy at work–Let us not be conceited, provoking one another and envying one another. A good place to start… I once heard an Evangelist make a statement something like this. “ If you do not like the way the church you are attending is run do not start and argument and a split of said church, just go and open your own church and the first Sunday there will be someone that does not like the way you are running your church…
