I think it is time for Christians to wake up and tell the enemy who is boss! Our Lord and Savior died on a cross to deliver us from his grasp, yet we still allow him to take a foot hold in our lives. I catch myself doing the same thing and I am sick of it… Yes he is running through this world trying kill, steal, and destroy ones testimony but he has already been defeated.

Jeremiah 17:9-10 (NKJV) 9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it? 10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

by Shepherd Jym Wells

I am not sure who wrote this but I think it says what I am trying to say very well. Like us, Jeremiah could not understand why wickedness waxed worse and worse in the world, and had to discover.. that the person whose heart turns away from God, to trust in man is cursed; unfruitful; barren and without hope.. while the man who trusts is the Lord is blessed indeed and likened to a well-watered tree that is planted by life-giving waters. Such a man will not be anxious in times of drought nor unfruitful despite the heat of the day – for cursed is the man whose trust in man.. but blessed in the man who trusts in the Lord.

Without the Lord our heart will take us down a path that will end in destruction. We must learn that our heart is wicked and deceitful, that is we as people and even nations turn away from God… we see the results of individuals and nations who put their trust in men suffer the consequences of their ungodly choices.

Do we trust God in every aspect of our lives. As Christians we must do so or we are just fooling ourselves. Without God it is hopeless, without God it is a loosing battle ending in destruction. We must and need a Lord and Savior to find true happiness.

The Berean said it this way Perhaps it is in this area that the heart performs its most destructive work; it conceals the exceeding sinfulness of sin and its tragic consequences and seriousness. It deceives us into thinking that it is not so bad or that God is so merciful that He will overlook it. Was it this kind of thinking that preceded the sudden deaths of Aaron’s sons, Uzza, and Ananias and Sapphira?

Let us close with this thought 1 Peter 5:8-9 (NKJV) 8 Be [a]sober, be [b]vigilant; [c]because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

  1. I know I have had enough of the enemy. But I ant giving him any credit, I give God all the glory because no matter how many times he hits me I get back up because God takes care of me. No matter how many darts he’s thrown at me he has missed, and I’m still her praise God, because all my hope is in Him alone. I put all my trust in God and I know He will hold my hand pull me back up to my feet and give me the strength go keep going. The enemy is defeated and I know that so I fear not and let not my heart be troubled nor will I be dismayed. I know He holds me with His righteous right hand and helps me. So why should I be afraid? I will not live in fear.
