A Fruitful Vineyard

Isaiah 27:2-5 (NIV) 2 In that day— “Sing about a fruitful vineyard: 3 I, the Lord, watch over it; I water it continually. I guard it day and night so that no one may harm it. 4 I am not angry. If only there were briers and thorns confronting me! I would march against them in battle; I would set them all on fire. 5 Or else let them come to me for refuge; let them make peace with me, yes, let them make peace with me.”

As I read this I started to see a comparison in verse 2 we see Isaiah talking about a FRUITFUL VINEYARD, I instantly thought of John 15:1-4 (NIV) 1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[clean or remove] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

He keeps the vineyard clean and fruitful as Isaiah is saying and He is protective of His vineyard[us]. The BRIERS AND THORNS are the lies the defeated one whispers in our ear and tries to make us believe. Our Father will protect us against those Lies or turn them into truths and turn them around usually the defeated one will use people to come after us and Isaiah says God will take care of us when we come to Him for a REFUGE. And he will turn them and bring them to Him. In todays terms SAVE and DELIVER from death and hell.

I pray this will help us understand our Father better and help us understand being a part of a fruitful vineyard as written about in both the old and the new testaments.
