An Action Speaks No Screams Louder Than Words

An action says more about a person than any amount of words look around we hear all sorts of things and they are nothing more than words in the wind.  We need to practice what we preach…

Luke 7:48-50 (NKJV) 48 Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

As I read this I thought of the Woman at the well John 4:1-26 (NKJV) then I thought of the woman supposedly caught in adultery John 8:1-11 (NKJV) and of course the woman with the issue of blood Mark 5:25-34 (NKJV). Why did I think of them as I read this story of this woman in Luke 7:36-50 (NKJV)

Of these 4 women none of them asked for forgiveness, however, all were set free from their sins. I found that amazing as I thought about it. Then I thought of Jesus’ words in John 14:12-14 (NKJV) 12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask[Me] anything in My name, I will do it.

I see today a number of people jumping on verses 13 and 14, however forgetting verse 12 which is the action part of the verse “he who believes Me”. Saw listened and believed I am sure and the action here was believing. It is not the asking it is the believing that will see us through. Again the action is through Faith we Believe in God’s Grace then we ask anything in His [Jesus’] name and He well do it…

I believe that we need to know and understand the scriptures. I hear people saying things like I do not have the time, however, they can set and read a book or the newspaper or will listen to their favorite radio station. Then say they do not have time to read the Bible. Then complain that God does not answer their prayers, think about it.
