John 6:28-31 (NIRV) 28 Then they asked him, “What does God want from us? What works does he want us to do?” 29 Jesus answered, “God’s work is to believe in the one he has sent.” 30 So they asked him, “What sign will you give us? What will you do so we can see it and believe you? 31 Long ago our people ate the manna in the desert. It is written in Scripture, ‘The Lord gave them bread from heaven to eat.’? ” Relating Scriptures  [Exodus 16:4; Nehemiah 9:15; Psalm 78:24,25]

This is after the feeding of the 5000 and the walking on the water. Jesus is now talking about not working of or worrying about worldly things. However if you read this it is sort of like today what works do we have to do to get to Heaven– What does God want from us? What words does he want us to do… Accept Jesus he is the Bread From Heaven. He is the food. He is the water. He is the only way to Heaven/ Here He was getting ready for the cross. We are living in the time after the cross.

All we have to do is “believe in Him Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We confess with our mouths and we believe in our HEARTS– not believe in our brain in our HEART
Thus we have Bread From Heaven. We do things for our Lord because we desire to not because we have to Jesus said it is all done when He went to the cross and three words IT IS FINISHED!
