The Church is not a building it is us, we the people are the church we are to be a living part of it. We are going on a short journey through 1 Corinthians and see who we are…

1 Corinthians 1:2-9 (MEV) 2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their Lord and ours:

3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 I thank my God always on your behalf for the grace of God which has been given to you through Jesus Christ. 5 By Him you are enriched in everything, in all speech, and in all knowledge, 6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7 so that you are not lacking in any gift while waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8 He will strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, and by Him, you were called to the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Paul starts this journey out in 1 Corinthians 1:2-9 He speaks to the Church of Corinth, let us change the Church of Corinth to your Church and lay it out…

1 Corinthians 3:11 (MEV) For no one can lay another foundation than that which was laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Paul tells us in this scripture that Jesus Christ is the layer of this foundation and no one else can take credit and no other one is the true Church.

1 Corinthians 3:17 (MEV) If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy. And you are His temple.

Here we are warned about changing it or using it for our own gain and what will happen.

1 Corinthians 6:19 (MEV) What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own?

Here we see that we are the Temple [the Church] and that we are not our own anymore we are His.

1 Corinthians 12:21-26 (MEV) 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 No, those parts of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those parts of the body which we think are less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor. And our less respectable parts are treated with much more respect, 24 whereas our more respectable parts have no need of this. But God has composed the body, having given more abundant honor to that part which lacks it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that the parts should have the same care for one another. 26 If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts rejoice with it.

We are a small part of the body of Christ, however, each part is needed to be a complete body or Church.

1 Corinthians 14:12 (MEV) So, seeing that you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church.

Here we see we are to surpass others or be superior in some respect or area; do extremely well and to instruct or benefit, especially morally or spiritually; uplift one another

I know this ran a little longer than we are doing, however, I felt it was necessary to get this point across and that we become what we are to be, the Church and edify our Lord and Savior…
