Read John 11:1-44

This story to me, at first, was hard for me to understand Lazarus was sick, he died and was buried in a tomb for 4 days and you could smell him.
Then in John 11:21 (NKLV) Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. What was the reason Jesus let him die and buried in a tomb for 4 days?

As a new Christian I could not understand why Jesus let him die in the first place. Now I do for that is what we have to do is let the old person died let that person be dead and gone. Then we are BORN AGAIN we are a new creation the old sinful person is dead and gone.
I believe sometimes we will not let others who are in that sinful body die so they can be resurrected as a new born in Christ. We feel as Mary and Maratha did and want them healed of the sickness (addiction) and actually what we need to do is let that old man die so a new one can be born again.

I hope this helps us understand what we all have to do at some point in our lives or not. However that is the person in the situations decision we can not make it for them…
