A Lesson From Jesus—With A Withered Fig Tree

A Lesson from Jesus. Let us take this scripture of the fig tree and apply it to us today. This might seem harsh, but I think it is time to get just a little harsh. This is not a game like a football, basketball or even NASCAR. This is real life and we either learn and grow or with wither away. It is our choice and it is time to start.

2 Timothy 2:15 (AMPC) Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.

Then as we read here in Mark 11:20-26 (MEV) 20 In the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 Peter, calling to remembrance, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”
22 Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23 For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them. 25 And when you stand praying, forgive if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven may also forgive you your sins. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins.”

How do we use this scripture as a tool? How do we learn this lesson? OK we as Born Again Spirit Filled Christians are the fig tree. We are nurtured by the Teaching and examples of our Lord and Savior. We start out on milk 2 Timothy 2:15 we grow to Galatians 2:20 then we do Mathew 28:18-20. However, some do not grow past the lesson 1. In fact I am not sure they were not aborted!

In church for years and are still on milk sucking on the bottle and not growing. One is born as a small child and need totally taken care of… as a New Born Again Christian we start out knowing nothing and trusting our leaders to teach us. Question is two fold, do they teach us and do we grow? If so then we read and study and speak as a Christian (if you do not understand this message me) not as the world. We listen and study rightly dividing the word. We need to study we do that by reading and using the world and we Grow as Christians just as we do in life so some need to GROW UP…
