Delight Yourself in the Lord and you will get the desires of your heart… Is this a true statement? This is something that I keep seeing more and more taking things totally out of context to make one feel better.

Psalm 37:3-4 (MEV) 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and practice faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

What I was saying is quoted from the scripture Psalms 37:4 however that is actually totally taken out of context for verse 3 give you what you must do first—trust in the Lord and second do good third dwell in the land [in today’s language: get in a God fearing, Jesus loving, Bible teaching church]. Then forth is practice faithfulness, then if one delights themselves in the Lord, the desires of their heart is His will.

Those who do not believe do the same thing they take scripture totally out of context and use it to say things like the Bible is a lie or there is no Jesus for they are filled with the joys of this world and are blinded to the truth for as we see in John 8:31 (MEV) Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you remain in My word, then you are truly My disciples. Remain in my word then The Truth Will Set You Free…

My theory is if something starts with Therefore go back and see what it is there for. If the verse starts with a small letter go back and find a Capital Letter and start reading from there for a statement starts with a Capital letter. Also if at the end of the verse if there is no punctuation continue reading until you see a period or something used to end a sentence.
