Faithful What Does It Mean

by Jym Wells

Faithful what does it mean as I was reading Psalms 23 I remembered reading the fourth verse over and over.  The Valley of the shadow of death, was that a real place or was it a Metaphor of what David was going through. I now think I have it Gods faithfulness, He is faithful to forgive if we are faithful to repent.  Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

I now believe it was a place David was in at the time. How did I come up with that well I was reading 1 John 1:7-9 (NKJV) 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

So I think David is saying here is that He knows God and he trust God even when he sinned He knows God is there with him and all he has to do is repent and the rest is there. Even when he messes up big time God is still there. Even with Bathsheba 2 Samuel 11:1-4, and the killing of her Husband Uriah as we read in 2 Samuel 11:15-17, God is faithful to forgive if one is faithful to repent. Then He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

So now we see that God will forgive us of anything we have done because for us we have the ultimate sacrifice Jesus, no need for the sacrifice of a ram or a goat or a lamb Jesus paid it all when he said it is finished He meant IT IS FINISHED there is nothing left to do only accept…

I do pray that this helps you grow in the Lord as we all grow…

Memory Verse for December 26, 2015

Psalm 23:6 (NKJV) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell[Masoretic Text reads return.] in the house of the Lord.

Thank you for reading and may God bless and be with you and watch over you. And America it is time for us to BLESS GOD again…

Isaiah 46:4 (NKJV) Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.

  1. I DONT THINK IT IS A LITERAL VALLEY I THINK THAT IT WAS THE SIN HE COMMITTED AS WATCHING HER TAKE A BATH AND HE WANTED HER FOR HIMSELF SO HE HAD SOMEONE TO PUT HER HUSBAND IN THE FRONT LINE SO HE WOULD BE KILLED. I THINK THATS HIS SIN AND HE KNEW IT AND HE NEEDED TO REPENT. FOR FORGIVENESS FROM GOD BECAUSE HE KNEW GOD WAS WITH HIM AND HE KNEW GOD WOULD FORGIVE HIM.

    1. I used the sin of Bathsheba as and example I think it is sin period and we walk around with it around us all the time. He was saying as I am out in the world walking through it I will not fear for You Father are with me. That is the reason as a young boy he went after Goliath with a sling shot, as he walk through that valley of the shadow of death getting t Goliath that he did not wonder if he could do it or not he know God was with him. He believe he could do all thing. So I do believe it was a metaphor.
