Following Paul’s Example As We See In Philippians

Following Paul’s example. That is a strong and powerful statement. Paul’s change from one that did not believe to one that does was life changing. He is responsible for writing most of the New Testament…  He stood holding the coats as they stoned Steven, he was far from a believer as he did his job until he was changed from Saul to Paul and a earth shaking change came called salvation.

Following Paul's Example As We See In Philippians

Philippians 3:8-11 (MEV) 8 Yes, certainly, I count everything as loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have forfeited the loss of all things and count them as rubbish that I may gain Christ, 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is of God on the basis of faith, 10 to know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if somehow I might make it to the resurrection of the dead.

As I try to teach others I sometimes feel I am spinning my tires, I am stuck in the mud. Sometimes I even feel no one is listening. Then I read Philippians 3:8-11. For this is the desire of my heart so then I read on with Philippians 3:12-14 (MEV) 12 Not that I have already attained or have already been perfected, but I follow after it so that I may lay hold of that for which I was seized by Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers, I do not count myself to have attained, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

It is time for some to let go of the past and move on. By hanging on to the past one is not excepting Galatians 2:20 (MEV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God,[a] who loved me and gave Himself for me.  As one who has accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, our old person was nailed to the cross with Jesus Christ. So if that is true, then old things have passed away, they are dead and gone. They no longer exist. If they are still hanging on then according to verse 21  I do not nullify the grace of God. For if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ died in vain.

We are saved by the grace through faith of Jesus Christ. and All thing not some, not a few, not this or that, ALL thing become new. if not then Jesus died for nothing. It is time to make a choice. Old or New. that is why I believe Philippians 3:15-16 (MEV) 15 Therefore let those of us who are mature be thus minded. And if you think differently in any way, God will reveal even this to you. 16 Nevertheless, according to what we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.

This verse is very clear about what we should be doing and that is growing and that is what I am hoping to help each one to do is grow. It is time for some to grow up it is time to get off the milk and get on some solid food and if not… Philippians 3:18 (MEV) For many are walking in such a way that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ. I have told you of them often and tell you again, even weeping. There are some trying to serve two Masters and that can not be done so then Philippians 3:19 (MEV) Their destination is destruction, their god is their appetite, their glory is in their shame, their minds are set on earthly things. This is why I pray that we all can start Following Paul’s Example.
