From Suffering to Glory the Big Picture of the Cross

Suffering to Glory Sometimes we get wrapped up in our pain and suffering and forget the big picture. Stop and think about what Jesus went through for you and then talk to me about pain and suffering.

from a request…

Romans 8:18 (NKJV) For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

What do I mean by that?  Putting it simply we get so wrapped up in what we don’t have and take our eyes off of what we do have. We don’t have the best car or the best clothing however we do have a relationship with our Heavenly Father that some of those who have all that stuff. We take our eyes off the Creator and get them on the Creation. We become blinded to what we have by looking at what we wish we had.

Imagine going to bed tonight and all at once you are awakened by someone breaking through the front door. A group of people rushes in yank you out of bed tie your hands behind you back. Then they laugh at you and spit on you and curse you. They go through your home and destroy your 50-inch flat screen TV they tear and rip up your clothing. The take what they want and drag you out of the house. They push you while hitting you with their fist and sticks. They piston whip you until you can not stand. then they tie you to the back of a van and they take off.

You can hardly stand and they sit and laugh at you as you stumble and try to keep up. Finally, you fall and they drag you through the dirt the gravel the asphalt tears your skin then they stop and a couple of them get out of the van and pour salt water on you. You cry out in pain and they laugh and pull you to your feet. Taking off again. You finally pass out. Then you awaken as they yank you up and they tie you to a post and they take turns whipping you until your back looks like ground beef.

Then they clothe you in a nice new outfit and march you through the streets for everyone to see laughing and throwing things at you yelling where is your God where is he now… Screaming at you then finally you get to the end of the street and there is a wooden cross and they lay you on it. They drive nails through your hands and feet and hang you on that cross and drop it in a hole in the ground. And there you hang for all the world to see.

What good is that new car now or that closet full of fantasy new clothes. What good is that money in the bank or even 790 Credit Score? What would you give just to be relief of the pain or to have a drop of water on the tip of your tongue?

You have just experienced few minutes of what Jesus experienced for YOU and ME. He was a man who knew no SIN and took our sin to Calvary and hung on a cross so that we might LIVE. So let us start to live the life worthy of what Jesus did for us… Some day we will stand before our God and all the garbage we have been through is nothing, for now, we understand “From Suffering to Glory”
