God Is The Help Of Those Who Seek Him

God, our Father is always there for us if we only ask. I keep remembering Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV) 7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Psalm 121:1-8 (NKJV) 1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

I found 7 scriptures about seeking. Seeking our Lord for He is our helper if we will only ask and then listen. I feel the biggest problem and that we do not listen. We ask and ask and ask then do not take the time to listen. I feel that listening is more important than asking.

You are in a strange city and lost you pull into a service station. Get out of the car go inside and ask for directions. The person started telling you how to get there and you turn around and walk out before they have given you all the directions. Odds are you will not find it, is that their fault or your fault?

Well that is what happens with our Father we ask and ask but do not listen for the answer. Then get upset when it does not work out. Who is at fault? If we are going to ask then we need to listen. Verse 7 says it as plan as it can be said “The Lord SHALL preserve you from ALL evil”.

Shall not will or could or should He SHALL preserve you from not some or a few but ALL evil. However one needs to listen. I found if I pray and then listen I get the answer sometimes it is quick and sometimes it is slower however the answer is there if we will just listen…
