By Jym Wells Shepard of ALMW

This devotional is going to be a short one and I hope it hits home to those that need it and gives us all something to think about as we go through our days here on earth…

Matthew 13:24-30: “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.”

I know I am not the first to think this way but maybe just a little differently. Let me give each of you, that read it, something to think about what I am saying. I think we all agree that this world is created by God and I believe our Father wanted it to be a joyful and fruitful place but the enemy has his workers mixed in with us. So now he is trying to turn us all into his followers, by making us think it is fun and a happy place.

The Farmer = Our Father
Enemy = the devil
Servants = The People of this world
The Wheat = Christians
The Tares = Unsaved People or those that claim to be Saved.

Some place and time some need to make a decision to follow Gods plan in ones life Being a Christian is a 24-7-365 life. When one makes that commitment, it is a life time commitment not a Sunday morning and evening and a Wendesday night thing if one thinks it is they are only fooling themselves.

Memory Verse January 21, 2023
Galatians 6:7-87 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
