I have listened to this song by Michael W Smith I have no idea how many time. I do believe there is a healing rain and all one has to do is accept it.
In Psalm 51:7 (NKJV) 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Hyssop: a Biblical plant, used for sprinkling in the ritual practices of the Hebrews. I feel that when we get saved there is a spiritual washing. I believe if we would picture a Heavenly rain falling on us that the old many is washed away, all the garbage is washed away. The dad or mom that was horrible as a parent or the aunt or uncle that hurt you.
I do understand those hurts. I had them and got rid of them. Let us be washed by the healing of the rain Titus 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior
Matthew 8:2 (NKJV) And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” We are no different than the leper we are filthy with our sin and we need to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus. And once cleaned we are dressing clothes of white. So now let us look at our sin and understand that it has been washed away by the healing rain.
