MORNING PRAYER and DEVOTIONAL for Tuesday May 26, 2020

The Morning prayer today is about we older Christians showing the younger Christians the way and how to be a Christian. Let us look back at when we were a new young Christian did those around us show us how? Sometimes yes and sometimes I think maybe they did not understand their role in our lives.

Are We Being Who We Should Be In The Eyes Of Those Around Us?

Psalm 119:9-10 (NKJV) 9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. 10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

I remember when I first started learning how to be a witness. It was a Saturday morning and we were calling on people who had visited the church. We went to a door and knocked and this black lady came to the door in a very thin night gown.

The person I was with gave her a flier from our church and as we walked away he said and I quote “if she had been dressed properly I would have witnessed to her”. I stopped and looked at him and said “if her being dressed like that bothered you then you have the problem not her”. She did not understand what she was doing and we did but we were to be an example.

Proverbs 26:4 (NKJV) Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him.

I have said and heard said, “it is not what you do in public but what you do it private is who’s you really are” Well yes and know. God sees both and knows both. What one does in private is taking them away from the Father. What one does in public shows younger Christians who we are. So we are an example to new Christians of how a Christian acts and what one does…

I think to us, as Christians, we need to understand that we are being watched 24/7 yes when we are alone we are being watched. The way we dress the way we talk and the way we act, all is being watched.

Actions speak louder than words in most cases. For instance one buys something and say it was $3.79 and one gives the clerk a 5 and 4 pennies wanting a dollar and a quarter back. They get confused and give you the dollar the change and the 5 back. Do you take the money and walk off or do you show them the mistake and get the $1.25 you expected. Your walk just talked a lot louder than your talk talked.

Being honest in all that we do is something that we need to know and understand. I am no better than anyone else for I make the same mistakes as we all do. We all are not perfect just forgiven, that is why I say we need to repent daily. I think that is why Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV) pray without ceasing,

Lord teach us to be all that we should be in all things to all people. Teach us to be what You desire us to be, show us were we are wrong and teach us to do it all right. Let us be “The Christian” You desire us to be in all things…

I pray this all in the Mighty and Wonderful name of Jesus Christ, the one who willing gave His life for us so we could one day be with You for eternity. Let us learn to listen to the Holy Spirit, who You sent to us at the request of our Lord and Savior to guide us through that maze called life. I now pray this all in the Wonderful name of Jesus I do pray this today—AMEN!
