Well, this morning I was asked a question, why do you do what you do every day? Why do you get up and write what you call a pray day after day after day? I had to stop and look around at the one that asked me that, but there was no one there.

Yes, there was, it was old what’s his name our enemy. That is what he does he will slip a thought in and let it eat at you, and it grows until yes it becomes a problem. Doubt is what he is good at and we listen to him.

by Shepherd Jym Wells

Matthew 14:28-32 (NKJV) 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

As I remembered this scripture I found a problem that we all have day after day. Peter was bold and asked Jesus to command him to walk with Him and Jesus did. However what happened the enemy did not tell him he could not do it he showed him the wind and the waves and starting thinking on them and took his eyes off of Jesus. Then what happened he started to sink.

We can look at story after story of people taking their eyes off of Jesus and that is what we do today we allow the enemy to distract us and take our eyes off of our Father and we get into trouble. There was a statement back in the 80’s I think it was. WWJD it hung on for a little while and faded out, “What Would Jesus Do.” That is a question that needs to be fresh in our mind all the time.

When we are faced with a problem “What Would Jesus Do” needs to be the question we ask, however we need to study the word we need to know the word and what Jesus did. Again back to 2 Timothy 2:15-16 (NKJV) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and [a]idle babbling, for they will [b]increase to more ungodliness.

Lord teach us today to do nothing without You in it. It is so easy for us to turn away and look at the world without You. It is so easy for the enemy to attack us in those times when we take our eyes off You. I pray Lord that I become a better example of doing what is right in Your eyes and not in the eyes of this world. I ask for a special blessing for those of us that follow You that we will be an example of You in all we do all the time. Forgive us Father when we take our eyes off You and look at the world. I now pray this in the wonderful and mighty name of Jesus our Lord and Savior—AMEN!
