Peace that only Jesus Can give the peace that passes all understanding. He promises us this peace however we have to accept it. How do we do that, that is the question?

Peace We are Given For The Things That Come...
The Scripture For Today

John 14:27 (MEV) Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Devotional For Today

My peace. This is Christ’s leaves to the disciples before he goes, the shalom of the orient for greeting and parting, used by Jesus in his appearances after the resurrection. We also see this in 2 John 1:3 (MEV) Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

I believe Jesus knew what was coming for the disciples and I believe He also knew what was coming for us today, as Christians. We can not walk, drive or move without the garbage of the enemy being thrown at us today. It comes in many shapes and forms. I believe Jesus was saying this to prepare us for it.

I was reading a Commentary by John Gill, he preached in the same church as Spurgeon some 100 years before him. I really liked what he had to say about 2 John 1:3…

“From the Son of the Father in truth and love”;

This was mentioned by the apostle (John) to confirm the deity of Christ, which is plainly implied in wishing for the above things equally from him, as from the Father; and to oppose and confront some heretics of those times, who denied the true and proper sonship of Christ; and therefore he calls him, “the Son of the Father”, the only begotten of the Father; and that “in truth”, or truly and properly, and not in a figurative and metaphorical sense, as magistrates are called the sons of God, and children of the most High, by reason of their office; but so is not Christ, he is God’s own Son, in a true, proper, and natural sense: and he is so “in love”; he is his well beloved Son, his dear Son, the Son of his love; as he cannot otherwise be; since he is not only the image of him, but of the same nature, and has the same perfections with him.

I do pray and hope that this helps us grow in our Father’s and Jesus’ love for us. To get us through the hard times and walk us through the troubled times. I pray that we grow stronger in His love for us all. So this I do pray in the mighty and wonderful name of Jesus—AMEN!

Thank you for reading and may God bless and be with you and watch over you. And let us understand, it is time for us to BLESS GOD…
