Peter Praises God for a Promise Granted Through Faith

Peter is letting us know that we are joint heirs with Jesus once we accept Jesus as our savior—by faith we accept Gods grace through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (NKJV) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible{incapable of being morally corrupted and undefiled{not made corrupt, impure, or unclean} and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you{will not nor can not be removed}, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Peter was there and was the one that spoke on the day of Pentecost and 3000 were saved. Peter, to me, is a example of Gods grace and what our Father sees when he looks at us. He sees our heart and with that He knows where we are…

Romans 4:13 (NKJV) For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.  According to Romans 8:16-17 (NKJV) 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

We are joint heirs with Jesus by accepting our Lord and Savior we inherit all that Jesus received when he was resurrected. How do we get that life it is found in Romans 10:8-10 (NKJV) 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” {that is, the word of faith which we preach}: 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:8-10 (NKJV) For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
