Temptation is… The enemy at work for God can not and does not tempt anyone. Evil is not any part of God our Father, if one is being tempted it is of the enemy the defeated one.

James 1:13 (MEV) Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil; neither does He tempt anyone.

I remember the first time I thought about this. Was reading the story of the crucifixion and Jesus said “Matthew 27:46 (MEV) About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” God could not look at sin for there is no evil in Him. He turned His back on Jesus at that moment.

Jesus took all the sin of mankind to the cross and with the temptation there God turned His back on Jesus so that our sin could be forgiven. James 1:13 is a very important verse to remember. For when one runs into temptation understand that it is not and I repeat DID NOT come from or of God…
