Praying Why Do We Pray How Do We Pray

Praying is a very important part of being a Christian. It is our way of communicating with our Father, it is like talking to him on the phone (without the phone). I remember when I first started praying I would pause hoping to say the right words at the right time. Then I read a verse that changed all of that, it was Romans 8:34 (MEV) Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes, who is risen, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

Romans 8:34 (MEV) Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes, who is risen, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

There is more scripture about Jesus being at the right hand of the Father, Acts 7:55-56, Ephesians 1:15-23, Colossians 3:1. I am saying all of this for a purpose. Sometime we are not sure What to say or how to say it. Jesus will fix it before the Father gets it.

There are times to pray in our prayer closet and there are times to pray in groups. Why do we not write out our prayers in TPO? I think it is a fear, a fear of not saying it right or not knowing what to say. We all make mistakes and miss use words or use the wrong word , I know from experience. When I started this group I was never sure what to say or how to say it.

We are human so let us be just that and pray so the person asking for prayer can read what we are praying. If one is not lead at that time then say “praying in my prayer time”, or ‘you are going on my prayer list.” For the people asking for prayer let them see we care by praying openly. I do understand that sometimes there is nothing to say but not all the time…
