Standing on the Promises

Standing On The Promises of God

Standing on the promises of God, it is time to put your faith to work and your actions speak. It is time do you really BELIEVE do you really know and understand the word of God. I have spoken on these scriptures many times before about the ARMOR and the SWORD and using it I am not going to say I have been wrong however I am going to look at it differently today.

Ephesians 6:10-19 (NKJV) 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Today as I read this scripture a small word hit me right between the eyes. So today we are going to look at the word and use it and see what happens. In verse 10 Paul says Finally be strong in the Lord. We are not fighting a war against FLESH AND BLOOD it is against our ENEMY the DEFEATED ONE. This guy was kicked out of Heaven years ago he has no power he feeds all of us lies, and tries to make us believe them. The scripture even tells us this in John 8:44 so why do we listen to him. That is what this scripture is about, standing on the promises of God.

We put this armor on not to go out and fight the enemy we put it on to let the Lord fight our battles for us. We put on the Armor so that we can WITHSTAND for we are told in this scripture, and this is the word that hit me today, we are told TO stand not run, not charge, not to be afraid—TO stand. Then we see after the elaborate, descriptive, in-depth usage of words we read in 20 so I may SPEAK BOLDLY as I ought to speak.

I pray that this helps us grow in the Lord and start standing on the promises of God…
